Terms & Conditions
By enrolling at Braid Academy Center (BAC), students agree to comply with all policies, procedures, and standards outlined in this document and as communicated during the program.
1. Enrollment Agreement
All students must complete and sign an enrollment agreement before beginning classes. This agreement includes:
- Program selection (Full-Time or Part-Time)
- Campus location (Minnesota or California)
- Tuition and payment schedule
- Acknowledgment of all policies
- Emergency contact information
2. Professional Conduct
Students are expected to:
- Maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Treat instructors, staff, fellow students, and clients with respect
- Follow all sanitation and safety protocols
- Use appropriate language and behavior
- Represent BAC professionally in all settings
3. Dress Code
- Professional, clean, and appropriate attire required
- Closed-toe shoes mandatory for safety
- Hair must be neat and pulled back during clinic work
- Student smock/apron must be worn during training
- Minimal jewelry that doesn't interfere with work
4. Sanitation & Safety Standards
All students must adhere to professional sanitation standards including:
- Handwashing before and after each client
- Proper tool sanitization between uses
- Clean workspace maintenance
- Following infection control protocols
- Immediate reporting of any safety concerns
⚠️ Important: Failure to maintain sanitation standards is grounds for immediate suspension or dismissal due to client safety concerns.
5. Photo & Video Consent
By enrolling, students consent to:
- Photo/video documentation of their work for educational purposes
- Use of their image in BAC marketing materials (unless opted out)
- Portfolio photography of completed styles
Refund Policy
Registration Fee
The $75 registration fee is non-refundable under all circumstances. This fee covers application processing, enrollment administration, and seat reservation.
Tuition Refund Schedule
Tuition refunds are calculated based on the timing of withdrawal:

Student Kit Refund
Student kit fees ($250) are non-refundable once the kit has been issued to the student. Kits not yet issued may be refunded in full.
Withdrawal Process
- Submit written notice of withdrawal to admissions office
- Complete exit interview (if applicable)
- Return all school property (mannequins, materials, etc.)
- Refund processed within 30 business days
No Refunds For:
- Missed classes due to personal reasons
- Absences without documented emergency
- Change of mind after Week 3
- Dismissal for policy violations
📋 Refund Processing: All approved refunds are processed within 30 business days of withdrawal approval. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
Student Code of Conduct
Braid Academy Center maintains high standards of professional behavior. All students are expected to uphold these standards throughout their enrollment.
Expected Behaviors
- Professionalism: Conduct yourself as a professional at all times
- Respect: Treat everyone with dignity and courtesy
- Integrity: Be honest in all academic and professional interactions
- Responsibility: Take ownership of your learning and actions
- Collaboration: Work cooperatively with peers and instructors
Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:
- Disrespectful or abusive language toward anyone
- Harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind
- Violence or threats of violence
- Theft or dishonesty
- Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Unsafe practices that endanger clients or others
⚠️ Zero Tolerance: BAC maintains zero tolerance for violence, harassment, discrimination, and deliberate safety violations. Such actions result in immediate dismissal without refund.
Attendance Policy
Attendance Requirements
Regular attendance is essential for program completion and student success. Students must:
- Attend all scheduled classes and clinic sessions
- Arrive on time and remain for the full session
- Complete all required hours for graduation (612+)
- Make up any missed clinic hours
Excused vs. Unexcused Absences
Excused Absences (with documentation):
- Illness or medical emergency
- Family emergency
- Court appearance (with subpoena)
- Bereavement
Tardy Policy
- Arrival 15+ minutes late = Tardy
- 3 tardies = 1 unexcused absence
- Repeated tardiness may result in disciplinary action
📌 Make-Up Policy: Make-up sessions are available for excused absences and must be scheduled within 2 weeks of the original absence. Clinic hours must be made up on designated clinic days.
Dismissal & Termination
BAC reserves the right to dismiss students who fail to meet academic, attendance, or conduct standards.
Grounds for Dismissal
Students may be dismissed for:
- Academic Failure: Failing to maintain 80% average or pass required exams
- Repeated Misconduct: Multiple violations of code of conduct
- Unsafe Practices: Deliberate violation of safety/sanitation standards
- Chronic Attendance Issues: Excessive absences or tardiness
- Violence or Threats: Physical violence or threatening behavior
Immediate Dismissal
The following actions result in immediate dismissal without warning:
- Violence or physical assault
- Theft of school or personal property
- Drug or alcohol use on campus
- Deliberate harm to clients
- Criminal activity on campus
⚠️ Note: Dismissed students receive no refund of tuition or fees and are not eligible for readmission.
Graduation Requirements
To receive a Certificate of Completion from Braid Academy Center, students must successfully complete all of the following requirements:
1. Hour Requirements
- Complete minimum 612 hours of training
- Document all hours accurately
- Make up any missed clinic hours
2. Practical Skills
- Complete minimum 10 live client services
- Achieve 80%+ average on all skill assessments
- Pass final practical examination
- Demonstrate proficiency in all core techniques
3. Written Examinations
- Pass sanitation and safety exam (80% minimum)
- Pass BBP software operational exam (80% minimum)
- Complete all module quizzes
4. Professional Portfolio
- Submit portfolio with 15+ professional photos
- Demonstrate variety of techniques and styles
- Include before/after documentation
5. Financial Obligations
- All tuition and fees paid in full
- No outstanding balances
- Return all borrowed equipment
🎓 Certificate: Upon meeting all requirements, graduates receive the official "Certified Professional Braider – Braid Academy Center" certificate and are eligible for alumni benefits.
