Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Braid Academy Center programs, admissions, and careers

General Questions

What is Braid Academy Center?

+

Braid Academy Center (BAC) is a premier professional training institution dedicated to advancing the art and business of African hair braiding. We offer comprehensive, structured programs that combine technical mastery, live client training, leadership development, and modern salon software operations.

With campuses in Minnesota and California, we're committed to developing skilled protective styling professionals, confident salon leaders, and future business owners.

Do I need prior braiding experience to enroll?

+

No prior experience is required! Our programs are designed to take complete beginners and transform them into professional braiders.

We start with foundations including hair anatomy, sanitation, and basic techniques, then progressively build your skills through advanced protective styling and salon management.

Is braiding licensed in Minnesota and California?

+

Neither Minnesota nor California currently requires a cosmetology license specifically for natural hair braiding. However, professional training ensures you have the skills, safety knowledge, and credibility that clients and employers expect.

BAC certification demonstrates your commitment to professional standards and comprehensive training, setting you apart in the marketplace.

What's the difference between your two campuses?

+

Both campuses offer the exact same high-quality curriculum, certification, and training standards. The only differences are location and local schedule options.

Choose the campus that's most convenient for you - you'll receive the same exceptional BAC education at either location.
